Excited to hear my new experience this semester?
Preface:
Budget cuts for the states have caused chaos. Tuition fee has increase for about 20% and since last year the tuition fee has increased about 30%. What a huge increase! Professors’ salary were also cut 10% and resulted in less classes with plenty of students who can’t get classes (including me). Now we have what we call Curlough Day; it is day when the teacher is not going to teach because of the 10% cut off their salary.

The school started last Monday 8/24 and I started my day with hunting down classes and professors. Yeah u heard me. I begged to get into a classes and I’m not exaggerating. Unfortunately, if the class is full then the class is full and no adds will be given with under no circumstances. Of course, some professors are nice and still take names of the seniors who are about to graduate. So, after talking to an adviser on early Monday morning, it was confirmed that I don’t have a lot of classes to take and ready to graduate in Spring 2010.
I have been extremely busy since I met the adviser (my major adviser). I had to get signatures from Graphic Design director, complete the application to graduate form, and submit them to the major director. Tomorrow I’m going to pick up those papers and submit them to the school’s graduation office. I bet there will be a lot of more paper to sign. *sigh*
It seems that I’m going to take classes for 5 days/week this semester (and probably next semester, too). So many sections are canceled due to the cuts
Graduating students become frustrated because seniors should have privilege to get into the classes they want, but now? NO WAY. I don’t know if this happens in other states as well.
